Four orphaned children and their mother were left without a roof over their heads yesterday after flames ripped through their home in Janabiya.

The fire, which broke out in the kitchen, quickly spread through the rest of the property, tearing through walls and leaving behind a shell of blackened concrete and charred furniture.

No injuries were reported, but the damage was severe.

Rapid arrival

MP Muneer Seroor said Civil Defence crews managed to keep the blaze from reaching nearby houses, crediting the rapid arrival of Interior Ministry teams for containing the situation before it grew worse.

He called on authorities to step in and support the family, urging them to arrange temporary accommodation given their circumstances.

The mother is now caring for her four children alone.
