Fifth regular session to begin on Sunday

The fifth regular session of Bahrain’s sixth legislative term will open on Sunday, October 11, with the Representatives and Shura Councils set to resume legislative and oversight work. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will open the National Assembly session and deliver the Royal Speech, in accordance with the Constitution. The two councils are expected to discuss draft laws and decrees, along with oversight and public service issues. Parliamentary and Shura committees will resume meetings in the coming weeks to review priorities and continue work on issues carried over from the previous session. The councils will also review laws issued during the legislative recess and take the necessary steps in accordance with the Constitution and the law. Following the opening, the Representatives and Shura Councils will hold their first sessions and set priorities for the new legislative period.
