Gold prices continue to fall in Bahrain
Gold prices in Bahrain continued to decline, with 21-carat gold reaching around BD44.5 per gram, while 22-carat gold stood at BD46.6 and 24-carat gold at BD50.9. The gold ounce was priced at around $4,166.
The decline came as gold prices faced pressure in global markets due to a stronger US dollar and higher US Treasury yields. Expectations that interest rates will remain high have also reduced demand for gold compared with assets that offer returns.
Gold fell by around 4% in a single session during the week, reaching its lowest level in more than seven weeks at about $4,110 an ounce, before recovering some of its losses.
Higher oil prices have also raised concerns about inflation, increasing expectations that US monetary policy will remain tight.
Investors are now watching upcoming US inflation data for further indications about the direction of gold prices in the coming period.
