Nagoya, Japan: World champions India will clash with arch-rivals Pakistan for the Asian Games men's T20 cricket gold medal on Saturday in Nagoya, Japan, after both teams earned dominant semi-final victories.
India secured their final berth by hammering Sri Lanka by 124 runs. Ishan Kishan scored an unbeaten 80 to post 169-7 before Jasprit Bumrah's early wickets helped bowl Sri Lanka out for 45.
Sri Lanka's collapse marked their lowest total in men's T20 international history, with three run-outs compounding their batting disaster.
Pakistan booked their spot by beating Bangladesh by six wickets in a reduced 13-over match. Abdul Samad’s unbeaten 30 off 15 balls easily guided Pakistan past Bangladesh’s target of 111.
The traditional rivals now face off for gold at Korogi Athletic Park Stadium, while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka meet for bronze.
