UAE Claim 3 Jiu-Jitsu Golds At Asian Games

The UAE won three gold and two silver medals in jiu-jitsu at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya on Thursday, with Khaled Al Shehhi, Ahmed Andeez and Balqees Abdulla winning golds.

ABU DHABI: The UAE captured three gold medals and two silvers in jiu-jitsu at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Thursday.

Khaled Al Shehhi successfully defended his title in the men's 62kg division by defeating teammate Omar Al Suwaidi in an all-Emirati final.

Ahmed Andeez secured another gold in the men's 69kg category to further boost the team.

In the women's 48kg division, Balqees Abdulla claimed gold after defeating compatriot Al Anoud Al Harbi in a second all-UAE final.

The impressive five-medal performance brought the UAE's total Asian Games count to seven medals.
