Spotify Expands Audiobooks to More Than 180 Markets including Bahrain

Stockholm: Spotify is extending its audiobook offering globally including Bahrain, from 22 markets to over 180 by the end of 2026. The move will enable more than 750 million people to listen to audiobooks on the site.
The expansion will provide over 350,000 audiobook titles to listeners in new areas, with content in over 120 different languages. New catalogs will feature titles from Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Poland, among others.
Spotify said that qualifying Premium customers in many markets will enjoy 12 hours of audiobook listening each month, while other users can access audiobooks via the Audiobooks+ add-on or purchase individual titles. Pricing and access choices vary by country.

The company is also offering new capabilities, such as an improved Page Match tool that allows readers to convert between print, e-book, and audiobook formats. Spotify said that monthly audiobook listeners have surged by about 40% over the last year, with listening hours increasing by more than 30%.
