Tamkeen kicks off third edition of ‘Mashroo3i’

Manama : Tamkeen has officially launched the activities of the fourth edition of ‘Mashroo3i’ Youth Business Awards with an orientation day held for the teams and mentors involved this year. The nationwide competition is positioned as a national platform aimed at promoting entrepreneurial values among Bahraini youths and guiding them to transform their business ideas and dreams into feasible business plans.

Over 340 applications were received during the registration phase that ended on January 28. This year’s edition will witness the participation of 204 youth entrepreneurs representing 110 business concepts, spread across many industries.

An orientation day was held to introduce the participants to the different phases and elements of the competition and meet the competitors and the organising committee from Tamkeen. Participants will undergo an intensive training programme focusing on entrepreneurship during the next stage held between February 24 and March 4. “Bahraini Youth are more aware of the concept and benefit of entrepreneurship and the need to develop the required skills to excel in this field. This was reflected in the number of applications received for this year’s edition – the eagerness and excitement of the youth to take part in this innovative competition,” said Mohammed Ahmadi, Manager of Youth Schemes at Tamkeen.

“We are pleased with the turnout of the participants during the orientation day and their keen interest to undergo the psychometric assessments. We are looking forward to the outcome of this competition which will surely support the development of the entrepreneurship sector in the Kingdom,” he said.
