McLaren’s Oscar Piastri secured a stunning pole position for the Chinese Grand Prix, outpacing Mercedes’ George Russell in Saturday’s qualifying session.

Piastri’s impressive performance marks a significant milestone in his Formula 1 career, as he prepares to lead the grid at the Shanghai International Circuit. His McLaren teammate, Lando Norris, will start from the second row alongside reigning world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull.

Seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, fresh from his sprint race victory—the first since joining Ferrari—qualified fifth. His triumph in the sprint earlier in the day showcased his growing confidence with the Italian team.

With an exciting grid set for Sunday’s race, all eyes will be on Piastri as he looks to convert his pole position into a maiden Grand Prix victory.
