Bahrainis jailed for withdrawing money with stolen ATM card

Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced two Bahraini defendants to three years behind bars each for stealing a wallet that contained BD7 and a bank credit card.

The duo reportedly withdrew BD1,000 using the card, and the victim reported the crime to police after receiving two messages from the bank stating that BD1,000 was withdrawn from his account in two attempts, BD500 each. “I searched for my wallet after receiving the two SMS and I found that it was stolen,” the victim said.

Police discovered the identity of the duo after reviewing the CCTV cameras of the bank. The defendants have been held guilty on grounds of robbery and forgery.
