Bahrain court renewed detention in drug case

Manama : The High Criminal Court has renewed the detention of two men, who were arrested for consuming and selling drugs. The accused include a Bahraini man and a Bangladeshi national.

The Anti-Narcotic Department at the Ministry of Interior had received a tip-off about the Bahraini man’s illegal activities. He landed in the police net during a sting operation in which an undercover agent lured him into selling drugs.

During interrogation, he revealed that he had bought the drugs from a Bangladeshi man. He also offered his help to arrest the Bangladeshi.

As per the direction of the police officers, the Bahraini man contacted him and asked for drugs. The Bangladeshi man fell in the trap. He was arrested while handing over the drugs to his co-defendant. Both men have been charged with possessing drugs with the intention of consuming and selling it.
