Two get jail for attacking Moroccan

A Bahraini man and a Moroccan woman were sent to jail after the High Criminal Appeals Court confirmed their conviction in assault case.

They reportedly attacked another Moroccan woman in Amwaj Island in February two years ago, causing several injuries to her. The 27-year- old victim said that she was surprisingly attacked by the duo while she was in the island, and that she had lost conscious.

“They hurled me with insults and beat me for no reason. I collapsed to the ground, and I lost my conscious,” the victim told prosecutors earlier. The incident was recorded by a German man who was at the scene and the footage was given to police. The duo were earlier sentenced to one month behind bars each, but were released on BD100 bail, pending the outcome of their appeal.
