The Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday inaugurated a twoday international conference on restorative criminal justice, titled “Advancing Restorative Criminal Justice – Insights into Evolving Justice Management Systems”.

Organised by the Public Prosecution in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the Arab Academy for Security Sciences (NAUSS), the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the conference is taking place at the Gulf Hotel in Manama.

It brings together a distinguished group of judicial, legal, and academic figures from both national and international levels. The conference marks a significant step in Bahrain’s efforts to develop its criminal justice systems.

It focuses on discussing and developing the concepts of restorative justice as innovative solutions to traditional punishments and a means of enhancing human rights.

The conference builds upon Bahrain’s pioneering experience in this field, established under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and reflects 25 years of significant advancements in judicial and legal policies.
