A tender is set to be issued next month by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) alongside the Tender Board, looking into ways to liven up four key avenues in Muharraq’s old town.

Shaikh Abdulla Avenue, Shaikh Hamad Avenue, and the stretches of Bu Maher Avenue and Al Tijjar Avenue are all included in the project. The initial stage of work on Shaikh Hamad Avenue finished in early 2025.

The main idea is to keep the character of old Muharraq alive, giving its streets and buildings a lift.
