Team Bahrain Victorious rider Dusan Rajovic sprinted to second place yesterday in the opening stage of the Saudi Tour, part of this year’s Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Asia circuit.

Rajovic was making his debut with the Bahraini outfit, and he put on a spectacular show, completing the 180.5-kilometre opening leg behind only winner Dylan Groenewegen of Team Jayco AlUla.

Rajovic commented after his finish: “The last kilometer was nervous; a lot of riders were fighting in the front. “In the end, second place is not bad, it’s the start of the season.

I was thinking I could do better as the team put me in a good position, I was coming from behind but was closed. Second place is not bad, but we’ll keep fighting in the next stages.”
