More than 1,100 precautionary sanitisation operations have been carried out across the Kingdom by over 5,500 volunteers, it was announced yesterday. The Ministry of Interior reported that the General Directorate of Civil Defence has trained a total of 5,501 individuals, who have carried out 1,118 precautionary sanitisation operations as part of measures taken in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) in each of Bahrain’s governorates.

Civil Defence director-general Colonel Ali Mohammed Al Houti said that they have continued the massive sanitising tasks with the assistance of the volunteers, who had responded to the National Taskforce for Combatting COVID-19 campaign.

The Civil Defence has held 344 training courses for 1,030 workers from cleaning and private companies, and 858 workers for mosques and other places of worship, he added. The director-general expressed his gratitude for the efforts made by authorities, companies and volunteers, which reflect society’s awareness and which contribute to mitigating the spread of the coronavirus.
