Police arrests reckless driver drifting car in viral video

Manama : Police have arrested a driver for performing dangerous car stunts on a busy street in the Southern Governorate after videos of his stunts went viral on social media.

Confirming the arrest, the General Directorate of Traffic, on the Interior Ministry’s official Twitter page, wrote: “A driver was arrested for performing dangerous stunts on the Istiqlal Highway near Sanad.”

The authority also said it has initiated legal actions against him. The footage shows the driver performing a tyre-smoking car drift at the junction linking Istiqlal Highway and Mahzoura Avenue while staying dangerously close to oncoming traffic.

At least three other similar incidents were reported this year in the Kingdom with the General Directorate recording arrests in each of the cases.
