Mastering Arts

Art is a form of living. It is a skill that can be only mastered through continuous practice and determination. Painting is not only a hobby for me, but it gives me an opportunity to express myself on white canvas through magical touches of paintbrush soaked in vibrant colours. I can rejuvenate myself after an entire week’s workload and exhaustion by painting for merely two hours. Painting in the open air, under the mild winter sun is an unforgettable experience. The chirping of birds and the hustling of the leaves calms the body and soul, allowing to devote oneself only towards painting. Sketching the landscape as it unfolds itself in front of your eyes is truly a magnificent experience for artists. ‘Nature study’ has only been introduced to us through the solitary effort of our drawing instructor Santhosh Poruvazhy. Finding the ideal landscape in a desert like Bahrain, just to familiarise his students to nature study, is a task that could only be accomplished by the determined and dedicated artist. It is an experience that cannot be penned down on a piece of paper, but I shall forever cherish it in my heart as a glorious memory of my childhood.
