The Janabiya Highway expansion project, part of the third phase of a programme to enhance access to Salman City and its surrounding road network, has been completed.

This was announced by the Minister of Works, His Excellency Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj.

He said that the project widened the road to three lanes in each direction over approximately four kilometres and upgraded its intersections, improving traffic flow and supporting infrastructure development in the area.

It will benefit residents of Salman City, Budaiya, Janabiya, and nearby areas, he added.

Al Hawaj noted that the road now accommodates up to 10,500 vehicles per hour during peak times, compared to the previous capacity of 6,700 vehicles per hour.

Daily traffic on the road has reached 54,600 vehicles, with an annual growth rate of 3%.

The project also involved constructing service roads, parking spaces, safety barriers, and implementing traffic safety measures.
