Manama : Bahrain’s landmark InterContinental Regency Bahrain, along with the Bahrain Diabetic Society (BDS), hosted a full day activity for mothers and children to promote healthy eating.
The focus was to allow them as a family to learn together and inculcate the purpose of having a more balanced diet. The event was held within the hotel’s luxurious premises on May 7, 2016.
Dr. Samia Al-Qattan, from the Bahrain Diabetic Association headed the programme, which was attended by the important dignitaries, including among them, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain Diabetic Association, Dr. Salah Ali Mohammed Abdulrahman, Ministry of Health Representative, in addition to the hotel’s General Manager, Jan Ifcic and Mohammed Sanad, Hotel Manager.
Families were invited to participate in the special activities planned for them by the Bahrain Diabetic Society.
The BDS organized educational tasks where-in participants were taught the various benefits of eating right through a number of creative and innovative methods.
Representatives from Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland achieved this through informative presentations, games and activities demonstrated to the children on how to sustain a balanced diet.
