Madrid: Real Madrid has officially secured the signing of French defender Ibrahima Konaté on a four-year contract, committing him to the Spanish giants until June 30, 2030.
The 27-year-old arrives as a high-profile free agent following his tenure at Liverpool, where he spent five successful years.
During his time at Anfield, Konaté established himself as a dominant presence, helping the Reds secure a Premier League title, an FA Cup, and reach the UEFA Champions League final. His move to the Santiago Bernabéu is expected to bolster Madrid’s defensive line significantly.
Konaté is currently representing France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he will now look to transition into a new chapter at the club level. By moving to Madrid, the defender reunites with fellow French internationals Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni, adding significant continuity to the squad's core ahead of the upcoming season.
