The Bahrain Coastguard Commander announced yesterday the arrest of four fishermen, aged between 30 and 39, for using illegal bottom trawling nets. The maritime patrols ordered one of the boats to stop for inspection before seizing the fishing nets.

Bahrain has banned the use of bottom trawling nests as per Ministerial Resolution No. (205) of 2018. Legal proceedings were taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
