The General Directorate of Traffic has confirmed that a tragic road accident early this morning in the Saar area was caused by excessive speed, negligence, and reckless driving.
According to official reports, the incident involved a Dodge vehicle driven at high speed by a motorist coming from Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway. The driver reportedly lost control and suddenly veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a Toyota vehicle.
The crash led to the immediate deaths of the Toyota's driver, a 40-year-old man, and his 36-year-old wife. Both victims succumbed to their injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital by the National Ambulance Service.
Tragically, the couple’s three children—aged 12, 9, and 7—were also in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
Traffic patrols and relevant authorities swiftly responded to the scene. The Public Prosecution has been notified, and legal procedures have been initiated. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Traffic Directorate reiterated the dangers of speeding and irresponsible driving, stressing the importance of caution and adherence to road safety rules to prevent such devastating accidents.
