Al Hammadi commended the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), led by Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW Chairwoman HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, to develop the legislative systems and the implementation of plans and programmes to empower Bahraini women, who, he said, make up one half of society and are the pillar of family stability, as well as economic and social progress, in line with the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.

The minister underscored the keenness of mass media and communication in supporting the National Strategy for the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence, launched recently marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, increasing awareness campaigns on enhancing gender equality and protection of women and children from all forms of violence, based the provisions of the Constitutions and national legislation.
