Manama : The anti-terror drill, “Cooperation II”, carried out by the Bahraini and Kuwaiti national guards concluded here yesterday. National Guard Commander Lieutenant-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti National Guard Lieutenant General Hashim Al-Rifae were present on the occasion.

Shaikh Mohammed welcomed the affiliates of the Kuwaiti National Guard, and lauded their cooperation throughout the stages of drill, which, he said, “reflects the depth of the long-standing bilateral relations.”

He conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, to the personnel of the Bahraini and Kuwaiti national guards and his pride in the outstanding skills professionalism they had showcased during the joint exercise.

He also lauded the bilateral military cooperation, exchange of visits and expertise, thanking Al-Rifae for his directives to harness all potentials to ensure the success of joint drill.

Al-Refae said that the training had achieved its goals in combating terrorism and underlined the importance of joint defence operations.

“The drill included shooting training with live ammunition on various targets, rescuing hostages, coastline protection, response to terrorist threats and reconnaissance operations,” he informed.
