Manama : Bahrain Television celebrated the anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with great fanfare yesterday, dedicating its programmes to its 87th National Day. Special tributes were paid to the two neighbouring countries highlighting fraternity and friendship. Patriotic songs were played lauding the achievements of Saudi Arabia since it was established by King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the founder of the Kingdom.

The programmes highlighted the progress of Saudi Arabia into a Kingdom with its special standing among Arab and Muslim countries and its advanced international status. The myriad aspects of life in Saudi Arabia were also portrayed in the programmes.

Saudi anchors were brought in to present some of the programmes, a gesture that indicated the depth of the media cooperation between the two kingdoms.

Officials interviewed on Bahrain Television praised the advances accomplished by Saudi Arabia in several fields and the prosperity enjoyed by the people.

On Friday, Minister of Information Affairs Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi hailed in a statement to Saudi Press Agency the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia in serving Islam and championing the Arab and Islamic causes.

“Saudi Arabia is a pioneering model for regional and international peace, security and stability, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” Al Romaihi said. The minister paid tributes to late monarch King Abdulaziz Al Saud, who laid the foundations of a modern state with a spiritual stature in the heart of the Arab and Islamic nations.
