Ministry of Industry and Commerce celebrates private sector partners for expanding consumer choices and promoting market stability

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has honoured commercial establishments participating in the fifth edition of the “Consumer Friend” initiative, recognising their role in supporting consumers and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors.

During the ceremony, Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro highlighted the importance of collaboration with businesses in maintaining market stability, expanding consumer options and supporting Bahrain’s national economy.

Held under the theme “More Choices… Better Value,” the latest edition of the initiative expanded its offers to include three key categories for the first time: food and consumer goods, school supplies and stationery, and electrical and electronic appliances.

The minister praised the strong participation of businesses, saying their involvement reflects a commitment to corporate social responsibility and initiatives that enhance consumer confidence.

The event was attended by Shaikh Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic and Foreign Trade, Eng. Entisar Abdulaal, Director of Consumer Protection, and representatives from participating companies.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Shaikh Hamad honoured the participating establishments in recognition of their contributions to the success of the initiative and their efforts in supporting a fair and competitive marketplace.
