Bahrain court grant bail for Asian in embezzlement case

Manama : A Bahraini court granted yesterday BD100 bail to an Asian man, who was implicated in an embezzlement case. According to the case, the accused was given BD630 by a family here to bring a domestic maid from India. But he could not fulfil the promise.

During interrogation, he admitted to receiving the money. But he claimed that he had sent the amount to a manpower office in India, and they didn’t respond to his calls.

“I received the money to bring in the maid for the family. After sending the money to the office in India, I tried to communicate with them. But nobody took my phone calls. Then I gave up contacting them,” the defendant told the court.

He was earlier ordered to be remanded for 15 days, pending investigations.
