769 tenders awarded in Q2

Bahrain’s Tender Board said it awarded a total of 769 tenders during the first six months of 2020 valuing around US$1.7 billion. Projects awarded in the Construction and engineering totaled USD588.3m, said the board, followed by US$416.3m worth of projects in the oil and gas sector.

The data is as revealed in the Bahrain Economic Report for the second quarter of 2020. The report also said the board in the second quarter awarded 47 tenders worth a total of US$21.8m to the small and medium-sized enterprises in line with government guidelines and initiatives to support the sector and enhance it as the main driver of economic growth.
