KYIV: A senior advisor to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine and Russia are moving closer to a comprehensive peace agreement aimed at ending the ongoing war. The statement suggests that both parties have reached common ground on several critical issues that have previously stalled negotiations.

According to the report, the potential deal focuses on establishing a sustainable ceasefire and a framework for long-term security. While specific details of the territorial and political concessions remain under discussion, officials indicated a significant shift in the diplomatic climate. The aide emphasized that any final agreement must prioritize Ukraine's sovereignty and provide ironclad guarantees to prevent future aggression.

The announcement comes after a series of intensive diplomatic efforts and mounting international pressure to de-escalate the conflict. While world leaders have reacted with cautious optimism, Ukrainian officials maintain that the path to a final signature remains complex. If successful, this agreement would mark the most significant breakthrough since the start of the full-scale invasion, potentially bringing an end to the humanitarian and economic crisis affecting the region.
