BEIJING: President Xi Jinping committed China to playing a ‘constructive role’ in Middle East peace talks on Tuesday. This announcement followed the conclusion of a first round of negotiations between the United States and Iran that failed to reach a deal. Speaking through state media, Xi reaffirmed China’s principled stance of promoting peace and urging talks.

He reiterated that the nation will continue its diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue in the region, seeking to help resolve the impasse after the initial discussions ended without an agreement.
