Woman driver ordered to pay BD13,000 to accident victim

The High Civil Court has ordered a Bahraini woman driver to pay BD13,000 in compensation to a 22-year-old fellow national, who suffered disabilities in an accident. According to prosecutors, the car driven by the accused hit the victim, sending him to coma. Sources said he was rushed to the hospital and doctors saved his life although he suffered 38 percent disabilities. “The accident has very badly affected my client, both physically and mentally. Doctors have confirmed that he suffered from a 38pc disability,” the victim’s lawyer said.

“He can’t walk steadily and has lost his hearing ability. His employer sacked him from the job, making it difficult to lead a normal life,” the lawyer said, requesting the court to order the accused pay compensation to the victim.
