Using stranger’s id card lands conman in jail

The High Criminal Court has sentenced a conman to three years in prison after convicting him for using a fake ID card. The accused reportedly used an ID card of another person to obtain three mobile phones and SIM chips from a local telecommunications company.

The victim received a phone call from the company later demanding him to pay BD4,000. When he enquired, he found that his card has been misused and his signature forged.

On investigation it was found the accused had a got a copy of the victim's ID card and he took advantage of it. He was charged on grounds of forgery and fraud.
