Two men, accused of theft, have been slapped with 10 years in jail each.

The duo was charged with stealing the handbag of a British woman in Juffair on the night of June 13 this year.

Aged 31 and 38, the suspects, who were serving as security officers, attacked the woman from behind and pulled away her bag containing BD10 as well as an iPhone. The woman suffered bruises in the incident, but she single-handedly solved the case. According to court iles, her iPhone was having an application designed to give the location of the phone in case it went missing or stolen.

She used the application, which guided her to the whereabouts of the device which was on display in a mobile shop.

“I met the owner of the shop and asked the CPR copy of the person who sold the phone. I took it to the police,” the woman said during questioning.

The pair was later apprehended and admitted to having committed the robbery.
