Three Iranians have been caught using illicit drugs in Bahrain, according to court files.

The trio including a cook, a manager and an employee were arrested following a tip-off to the anti-drugs department at the Ministry of Interior.

The information revealed that one of them was in possession of opium that was ready to be sold nationwide.

He was arrested, and the other two Iranian men were later busted after further investigations on the case were carried out. Police seized cash and illicit drugs from them while inspecting their homes. The accused are standing trial before the High Criminal Court and they yesterday pleaded not guilty. Their case was adjourned until January 7 for review.

Meanwhile, the High Criminal Court has ordered to renew the remand of two Pakistani men who are charged in connection with drug peddling case.

The pair was accused of trying to transport over one kilogram of heroin in Bahrain.
