Tata Motors is set to acquire Italian truck maker Iveco. The $4.5 billion deal is said to be the second-largest acquisition by the Indian conglomerate after Corus.

As per media reports, the board of Tata Motors and Iveco will be meeting on July 30, 2025, to finalize the transaction. Tata Motors will buy 27.1% from Exor, the investment company of the Agnelli family – the principal shareholder. Exor also controls 43.1% of the voting rights.

Iveco recently confirmed its plans to break up the company and sell its defence and commercial units to separate buyers. The company said that it was in “ongoing, advanced” talks with different parties.
