Southern Municipality Tackles Rainwater Accumulation

Southern Municipality Director-General Issa Abdulrahman Al Buainain conducted an inspection tour of areas affected by rainwater accumulation in the Southern Governorate, accompanied by the emergency rain response team. During his visit, Al Buainain reviewed ongoing efforts to drain rainwater in locations including East Riffa, North Riffa, Buhair, and other affected areas. The emergency team worked actively to address waterlogging issues in these regions.

Al Buainain praised the municipality's swift response to rainwater reports and highlighted the ongoing coordination between the executive body and the Southern Municipal Council in managing the current rainfall. He noted that preparations had been completed before the rains, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to ensure a rapid response and efficient drainage of rainwater from internal roads.

He also urged residents to report any rainwater accumulation via the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture’s hotline at 80008188.
