A new sewer network has been completed in Block 522 of Barbar, connecting 169 properties, the Works Ministry has announced.
The project, located in the Northern Governorate, saw the installation of 3,359 metres of main pipelines and a further 1,561 metres of smaller connecting lines.
A total of 112 main inspection chambers and 160 secondary ones were built.
Fathi Abdulla, Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering, said the project is part of the Ministry’s effort to expand coverage as residential areas grow.
He added that the Ministry is working to match the pace of urban spread by putting in place basic groundwork where it is needed.
