The High Criminal Appeals Court has upheld the conviction of eight men tried in connection with an arson case.

The Bahrainis have been arrested for their role in the riot that broke out in Muharraq on June 24 two years ago.

They were said to have burned tyres and pelted firebombs at police as well as setting garbage containers afire to disturb the traffic.

The sabotage had also caused damage to a civilian’s car.

The defendants had been charged with arson, participating in an illegal gathering and possessing firebombs.
