London: A historic British mansion that secretly monitored the conversations of captured Nazi generals during WWII has reopened as a museum, providing visitors with insight into one of Britain's most secretive wartime intelligence operations.

The recently opened Trent Park House of Secrets museum depicts the story of the ‘Secret Listeners’- German-speaking refugees, many of whom were Jews who fled Nazi persecution. Working in covertly, they listened in on bugged talks and provided important intelligence to British authorities.

Hidden microphones placed throughout the estate recorded conversations between senior German leaders, providing critical information about Nazi military tactics, weapon development, and battlefield actions. The intelligence acquired assisted Allied leaders in making critical combat choices.

The museum now comprises renovated rooms, interactive exhibits and archive documents that emphasise the role Trent Park played in the Allied triumph. Historians regard the operation as one of Britain's most significant intelligence accomplishments during World War II.
