MOSCOW: Russia has announced a massive three-day military exercise involving its non-strategic nuclear forces, citing rising international friction and hostile rhetoric from Western nations.

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed on Tuesday that the major drills will take place across multiple military districts to test the readiness and combat deployment of tactical atomic weapons.

According to military officials, the intensive field maneuvers are designed to ensure the absolute combat readiness of personnel and hardware to respond swiftly to any external threats. The exercises will involve aviation units, naval deployments, and missile forces practicing complex coordination routines.

The high-stakes announcement comes amid a period of sharply deteriorating diplomatic relations between Moscow and NATO member states. Western defense analysts view the public declaration as a clear strategic warning intended to deter European leaders from increasing their military assistance to foreign conflicts. The Kremlin maintained that the drills strictly align with its national security protocols.
