The artistic world mourns the loss of Bahraini Arif Al Zayani, a prolific musician known for his mastery of the oud and his contributions to the music industry.

Al Zayani’s journey of creativity and excellence spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

His career began in the mid-80s when he released numerous songs and albums, some of which he composed himself. He gained widespread recognition for his skillful performances on the oud, a traditional Arabian instrument.

In 1995, Al Zayani collaborated with Emirati singer Ahlam Al Shamsi, producing several successful albums that remain cherished by audiences to this day. Despite ending their collaboration after the “Ahsan” album, their partnership produced memorable hits such as “By God, I Need You,” “You Know Why,” and “Sexy.”

Additionally, Al Zayani played a pivotal role in discovering the talent of Bahraini singer Hind, assisting her with her debut album and composing several tunes for her.

In 2005, Al Zayani served as a judge on the judging panel of the Gulf Stars programme’s first season, where his expertise and insight were highly regarded. He was honoured with the co-title alongside Bahraini Salman Hamid.

Arif Al Zayani’s contributions to the music industry and his legacy of sweet melodies will continue to be celebrated and remembered by generations to come.
