Police yesterday arrested a person suspected of selling medicines subject to regulatory controls in Bahrain without a licence.

The arrest followed a report filed by the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence to the Public Prosecution, said the Head of the Public Prosecution of Ministries and Public Entities.

Cops during the arrest also retrieved medicines kept illegal from his possession. The Public Prosecution charged the accused with supplying and selling medicine subject to regulatory controls without obtaining a licence from the National Health Regulatory Authority.

The arrest is as per Law No. 23 of the year 2022 and issued on June 14, 2022, regulating the profession of Pharmacy in the Kingdom.
