NHRA revokes licence of four medical centres in Bahrain

Four private medical centres in the Kingdom have lost their licences for violations, said the National Health Regulatory Authority. The authority said they revoked licences for employing unlicensed medical professionals, conducting unlicensed practises, storing unlicensed or expired medicines and using unlicensed medical devices. NHRA hasn’t disclosed the names of the centres against which they took action.

Dr Mariam Athbi Al-Jalahma, the CEO of NHRA, said they took the actions based on an accountability committee report and an investigation.

The committee chaired by a judge took the closure decision after putting the facilities on notice. Dr Al Jalahma said NHRA is continuing its inspection campaigns at all medical institutions in the Kingdom as per law no 2015 on health institutions.

“This is to ensure the adherence of health institutions in the Kingdom to rules and technical standards necessary for patients and staff safety,” said Dr Al Jalahma.
