New regulation enhances people's safety on the road

Manama : Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Committee (BCCI)'s member and head of the transport and logistics sector committee Abdulhakeem Al Shemeri has asserted the committee’s intention of holding an open meeting in collaboration with the Customs Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain on the standard specifications for trucks to be implemented by the Saudi Customs starting April 8 and which will be effective on all trucks entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Al Shemeri said:
"The new standard specifications for trucks states fixing protective barriers on trucks with the aim of preventing the slip of smaller vehicles underneath trucks in case of collision, and thus mitigating the prospective damage and protecting lives". He added "We aim to inform and enlighten the transport and logistics sector in Bahrain of the new regulation and the importance of abiding by it to streamline their passage from and to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and prevent time and money loss".
