Kuwait City: Kuwait has announced stringent new penalties targeting clothing and personal items that feature drug-related imagery, as authorities intensify their nationwide campaign against narcotics.

Under the Interior Ministry’s “Safeguarding Our Homeland” initiative, individuals are now prohibited from wearing, using, or displaying any goods, accessories, or printed materials that contain symbols, images, writings, or logos promoting or glorifying narcotics. Violators may face fines of up to KD 500.
The ministry also warned that being in the company of users of narcotics or psychotropic substances could result in imprisonment of up to three years, a fine reaching KD 5,000, or both — even if the individual is not personally consuming drugs.
Officials stressed that the expanded measures aim to curb drug-related activities, protect public morals, and reinforce national security. Citizens have been urged to adhere to the regulations and report violations through official channels.
