The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, following Muharraq Club’s winning of the Asian Cup for the second time.

The Cabinet, during its weekly session and chaired by HRH Prince Salman yesterday, commended the efforts and capabilities of the Muharraq Club which reflect the development of Bahraini sports and its distinguished position at a regional and international level.

The Cabinet stressed the importance of the speech made by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

The speech reflected the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for international efforts to overcome climate change, and develop innovative solutions to achieve climate security, reiterating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

Bahrain also announced its planned targets to reduce emissions by 2035, as well as the Kingdom’s support for key international climate change initiatives.

In this regard, the Cabinet assigned the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance to follow up on this.

The Cabinet affirmed Bahrain’s support of the UAE request to host the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Abu Dhabi in 2023, noting its capabilities in organising international events and unifying efforts to address international challenges.

The Cabinet condemned the assassination attempt on Iraq Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi, denouncing this act of terror aimed at destabilising Iraq’s security and stability and inciting sedition in Iraq
