Man loses appeal in kidnap case

The High Appeals Court has rejected the appeal lodged by a man convicted of kidnapping a teenager for failing to settle a BD50 debt.

The defendant was among three men implicated in the case, all of whom were handed down three years behind bars each. It’s said that the trio kidnapped the boy after they convinced him that they would talk with him about the money he owed to them. “I was with my friend in his car near a local cafeteria.

They approached me and told that they wanted to speak to me. I disembarked the car and went with them,” the 15-year-old boy told prosecutors upon filing a complaint against them.

They, however, dragged him into a car after they took him to a remote area. “They drove me to Busaiteen beach, where they attacked me.”
