Israeli teenager hurt in Jerusalem stabbing: police

An Israeli teenager was lightly wounded on Saturday in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem's Old City thought to have been carried out by two young Palestinians, police said.

A police spokeswoman said two Jewish youths were attacked near Jerusalem's iconic Western Wall by two Palestinian "minors".

"One was lightly wounded and the other managed to escape and alert the police," she said, giving the victim's age as 17.

The two alleged attackers were arrested.

A wave of Palestinian knife, gun and car-ramming attacks since October 1 has killed 25 Israelis, as well as an American and an Eritrean, according to an AFP count.

At the same time, 159 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces, most while carrying out attacks but others during clashes and demonstrations.
