The High Criminal Court has issued verdicts in three separate cases involving human trafficking, with the defendants found guilty of exploiting victims for forced labour and sexual exploitation.

In the first case, the court sentenced the defendant, an African national, to five years in prison and fined her BD5,000.

In the second case, two Asian defendants were each sentenced to five years in prison and fined BD2,000.

In the third case, two other Asian defendants were sentenced to five years in prison and fined BD1,000 each.

All three verdicts also include orders for the defendants to cover the costs of repatriating the victims to their home countries.
