His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his visit to Italy.

They discussed the strong friendship between Bahrain and Italy. Both leaders looked at ways to strengthen ties in different fields.

The talks also covered important regional and international issues. A major focus was the situation in Gaza. Both sides stressed the need for joint efforts to reach a ceasefire.

Prime Minister Meloni congratulated His Majesty on Bahrain’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2026–2027.

They also spoke about boosting economic cooperation. This comes ahead of the planned visit of Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister to Rome in September. Several agreements are expected to be signed during that visit.
